Valentines - Are you feeling a little last minute?

February 13, 2018

Valentines is upon us, and if you're running a bit behind on planning, we've got you covered!

These are our recommendations for last minute valentines day plans, and all things romantic in Norwich.

Where to eat?

One of our most favourite places in Norwich, Figbar is our go-to place for a romantic stop. Beautifully lit, intimate, and utterly delicious. The masterpieces available here (all created and made by Master Chef Jaime Garbutt) are enough to make any moment special: there is nothing but pure joy to be found behind the small door at No 23 St John.

Whether you're heading there for a delicious plated dessert and a glass of British bubbly, or grabbing a take out to enjoy snuggled up at home, you cannot go wrong. We are in a committed relationship with Figbar: skip out after your main meal elsewhere, take a stroll through the city at night and indulge here!

Our top tip: have a plated dessert, and then pick a ready to go dessert to take home!

Best For: gluten free, dessert, fine dining, intimate setting

Les Garrigues

If you, like us, relish the experience of tasting unique flavours and traditional produce, look no further. This French deli style restaurant/wine bar serves only the finest specially selected cheese, charcuterie, and wines, imported directly from France. The proprietor, Damien, makes your experience here: not only can you sit back and enjoy exceptional pairings, but his passion and knowledge makes a trip to Les Garrigues truly exceptional.

Las Garrigues is always busy, so if you can't get a last minute table, stop in and grab some delicacies to sample at home for a romantic night in.

Our top tip: have nibbles and wine here, followed by dessert at Figbar!

Best For: traditional produce, excellent wines, relaxed setting

A massage here leaves you feeling rejuvenated, with their specially trained therapists taking the extra time, care, and attention to personalise your experience to your needs.

Our top tip: add a little good karma to your valentines by also paying it forward when you book your gift!

Floatation therapy is something we think everyone should give a go! And Float Norwich has brought two wonderful pods to our fine city, offering a truly relaxing, otherworldly experience, allowing you 90 minutes of unparalleled down time. When you step into Float, on Ber Street, you will be warmly welcomed by their fantastic team, and treated to a relaxing experience including time on a full body massage chair, a one hour float in your own private room, and then after a quick shower and spruce up in the salon area, put your feet up with sorbet and tea in their lounge.

Time floating allows you to unwind, destress, and feel the physical benefits of an antigravity float in epsom salts. It's your very own slice of the Red Sea, accompanied by soothing sounds of meditative music. The perfect gift or couples experience.

Our top tip: make sure to smother yourself in the body lotion after your float, it smells incredible!

Best For: relaxation, couples experience, something different

Thoughtful Gifting

This little treasure trove is a labour of love, full of exceptional gifts, cards and lifestyle goodies in a scandinavian style setting. If you're still at a loss for a personal and thoughtful gift, Elm is coming to your rescue. Owner Paige Mitchell has lovingly curated a selection of goodies that you just will not find elsewhere, sourced directly from local and European suppliers.

For interior loving partners, her one of a kind hand made pottery pieces filled to the brim with their favourite plants should tick every box.

Our top tip: pick up an unusual valentines card to show your special person how unique they are!

Best For: supporting local creativity, unique gifts, one of a kind items
